We are living in a time of grave crisis for men. Many are lost, distracted, seduced, and overwhelmed by a culture that stigmatizes masculinity and undermines the natural call for men to lead, protect, and provide. Drifting from a heroic and meaningful purpose in their lives, men fall into addiction, including pornography, gaming, food, sex, alcohol or drugs, gambling, thrill-seeking, materialism, careerism, and all kinds of curiosities and diversions. Many have failed to establish themselves with strong families and deep friendships, and many men are isolated, lonely, bored, and alienated from women and each other.
The same is true for many Catholic men. Millions have left the Catholic faith, and of those who remain, most live as Catholics in name only, rarely practicing. For many, Catholicism is no longer at the center of their lives. Others, angry and disgusted by scandal and corruption in the Church, have turned away.
You might find that one or more of these descriptions reflects your own experience:
- Perhaps you are a practicing Catholic but hunger to live an even more vibrant Catholic life, or you may even be a new convert to the faith. You want and are looking for more.
- Perhaps you are a loyal Catholic who is practicing the faith mostly out of obligation, but you are low involvement and rarely experience awe and joy in Catholicism. You are not actively working to grow in your faith, but are open to considering new approaches that may help you.
- Maybe you’re a single Catholic man who has struggled to find and attract a holy, beautiful woman to share your life with, and you hope that reigniting your faith might help you find your soul mate.
- Perhaps you are a married Catholic man who wants to be a better husband and father, or you have begun to realize that the rapidly decaying modern culture is a grave threat to your children. You may have realized that there is a chance that Jesus and His Holy Catholic Church can help you save them.
- Maybe you are a lapsed Catholic who rarely, if ever, prays or attends Mass, and you don’t feel like you are missing anything. You could be a young man who drifted away after Confirmation or when you left home.
- You may be a former Catholic who has left the faith and may not even believe in God anymore. Maybe you have become disillusioned by the actions of some in the Church or have concluded that God doesn’t exist or that religion is for the weak. Perhaps a relative is seeking to invite you to return to the Church, or you came to this website on impulse.
- Perhaps you are a non-Catholic Christian and are curious about this whole “Catholic thing” or long to draw closer to Jesus.
- Maybe you are looking for help to grow in manhood or long to find men with whom you can build bonds of true brotherhood.
- Perhaps you follow some other religion and have somehow been moved to explore Catholicism.
In addition to the above, many men are experiencing deep suffering and loss, whether through illness, impending death, the loss of a loved one, divorce, poverty, unemployment, financial strain, addiction, imprisonment, persecution, a lack of friendship, or a growing sense that life has no meaning.
For each of you, give thanks to God, for He is calling you. God wants you to find the deep, unshakable joy that only He can provide.
