Prayers for the Sick

Personal Prayer in Time of Sickness

O Divine Physician, Who always love to console and heal the sick of body and mind, grant me patience to bear my sufferings. By Your power, relieve the sharpness of my pain and exhaustion, but above all, kind Jesus, heal the wounds of my soul. And even though I find it hard to pray, yet shall I ever say: Your Will be done. Amen.

Prayer for the Sick

Almighty and eternal God, the everlasting Salvation of them that believe, hear us on behalf of Your sick servant, N., for whom we implore the aid of Your pitying mercy, that, with his/her bodily health restored, he/she may give thanks to You in Your Church. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Sick

Good Jesus. Physician of souls and bodies; make the sickness of N. a healing medicine for his/her soul; soothe by Your presence each ache and pain; hallow his/her suffering by Your all-holy Suffering; teach him/her to unite his/her suffering with Yours, to be hallowed by Yours. Amen.

Prayer for the Sick

Most merciful Jesus, Who are the consolation and salvation of all who put their trust in You, we humbly beg You, by Your most bitter Passion, grant that N. recover his/her health, provided this be for his/her welfare, so that with us he/she may praise and magnify Your Holy Name.

O Mary, Mother of our Savior, Virgin most powerful, Virgin most merciful, health of the sick, refuge of sinners, comforter of the afflicted, help of Christians, pray for him/her. St. Joseph, pray for him/her.

Our Father, Hail Mary. Glory Be. Amen.

Prayers for the Dying

Prayer for the Dying

Almighty and most merciful God, Who has bestowed upon mankind the medicine of salvation and the gift of everlasting life: mercifully look upon us Your servants and restore the soul which You have made, that in the hour of his/her passing he/she may deserve to be cleansed from all sin and set before You his/her Creator, by the hands of Your Holy Angels. Through Christ our Lord, Amen. (Rac 647).

Prayer as one’s own death draws near

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give You my heart and soul. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, assist me in my last agony. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, let me breathe forth my spirit in peace with You. Amen. (Rac 636).

Prayers for the Faithfully Departed

Pray for the Poor Suffering in Purgatory (Partial Indulgence MOI 29.2.2)

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Prayer for the Faithfully Departed – The De Profundis (Psalm 130)

Out of the depths I cry to thee, O LORD! Lord, hear my voice.  Let Thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!

If Thou, O LORD, shouldst mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared.

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I hope; my soul waits for the LORD more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with Him is plenteous redemption. And He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord.
