Blessed Trinity, I beg You, deliver me from Wrath and help me live with a heroic and dignified Meekness, Lord, hear my prayer.

Rather than burning with anger at the world’s injustices, help me gain self-mastery over unrighteous anger, bear wrongs patiently, and quickly return to the peace and happiness You offer…

Rather than wrongly suppressing righteous anger out of misguided tolerance or fear of others, guide and strengthen me to respond with appropriate anger when You deem it to be necessary…

Rather than being irritable, sullen, or disgusted by those who are difficult for me to love, inspire me to be cheerful, warm, and friendly to every person…

Rather than condemning others based on my incomplete assumptions, help me to see each person with fresh eyes as Your creation and to respond with empathy, openness and love…

Rather than practicing a false meekness which tolerates grave sin in others, guide me to peacefully respond when appropriate to admonish, teach, and counsel those who have gone astray…

Rather than being defensive, counter-punching, or retreating when attacked by others, give me the ability to smile in disagreement, to be prudent in knowing if and how to respond, and to be a peacemaker when possible…

Rather than harboring resentment, plotting revenge, wallowing in self-pity, or avoiding those who have hurt me, help me to respond to those who sin against me with mercy, forgiveness, goodwill and love…

Blessed Trinity, I desperately need the Gift of the Fear of the Lord so I may battle against Wrath and grow in Meekness.

I beg for confident and dignified Meekness, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Savior of Man. Amen.
