Blessed Trinity, I beg You, deliver me from Envy and fill my heart with loving Kindness, Lord, hear my prayer.

Rather than being unhappy, resentful or discouraged about my life, help me to be grateful to You for my many blessings, content with my station in life, and optimistic about what You have planned for me…

Rather than thinking mostly about myself, guide me to search for ways to serve others every day in many small and kind ways…

Rather than being jealous of those who have gained money, power and fame in the world, help me to have pity for those enslaved by worldly things and to pray for their salvation and happiness in God…

Rather than being tempted to undermine the accomplishments and reputation of others out of envy, help me to admire, respect and support the good reputation of others…

Rather than gossiping about the mistakes of others or slandering them, guide me to know when and how to speak privately with great charity to a person who has made a mistake to help them understand their errors…

Rather than feel evil glee or to be smugly self-righteous when someone I envy fails, grant that I might turn from envy and be sorrowful, sympathetic and prayerful for God’s will to be done when another person experiences failure…

Rather than ignoring or downplaying the suffering of those I encounter in my life, guide me to be empathetic and offer my prayers and direct help to reduce their suffering…

Blessed Trinity, I desperately need the Gift of Piety so I may battle against Envy and grow in Kindness.

I beg to be filled with overflowing loving Kindness, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Savior of Man. Amen.
