Blessed Trinity, I beg You, deliver me from Pride and grant me a strong and enduring Humility, Lord, hear my prayer.

Rather than my prideful blindness and arrogant self-righteousness, help me more fully recognize the multitude and frequency of my sins of thought, word and deed which oppose Your Holy Will…

Rather than my confused and incorrect assessment of my own spiritual progress, sear in my mind the vast gap between my current sinful state and the saintliness of those who You accept into Heaven…

Rather than my ungrateful presumption and misguided confidence in myself, shock me into recognizing my true and deep spiritual poverty and the reality that my only hope for eternal happiness is for Jesus to save me…

Rather than my prideful reliance on my own rebellious ideas and my acceptance of the evil thoughts of malformed people, convert my heart to absolutely submit to the Divinely given teachings of Your Holy Catholic Church…

Rather than my vain efforts to be noticed by others through prideful non-conformity, strange adornment, clothing or grooming styles, guide me to be holy, unpretentious, and understated in my dress and manner as a man of God…

Rather than my pathetic attempts to impress others by boasting, rudeness, showing off, or seeking to dominate and correct others, guide me to be self-effacing, courteous, and appropriately tolerant…

Rather than being easily offended, stubborn, and unforgiving, help me to accept the slights, insults and legitimate correction by others with patient joy as a mortification and service to Christ…

Blessed Trinity, I desperately need the Gift of the Fear of the Lord so I may battle against Pride and grow in Humility.

I beg for gracious and dignified Humility, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Savior of Man. Amen.
