Blessed Trinity, I beg You, deliver me from Sloth and grant me the self-mastery of Diligence, Lord, hear my prayer.

Rather than being disinterested, bored, or lukewarm in my desire to draw close to You, inspire me to be filled with a fervent and persistent hunger to know, love and serve You…

Rather than being lax and inconsistent in my devotion to You, give me the will and discipline to keep a routine of daily, weekly and seasonal devotional practices as directed by Your Holy Catholic Church…

Rather than being ignorant, lazy, disinterested, apathetic or narrow,  guide me to be appropriately studious, engaged and thoughtful in the pursuit of wisdom…

Rather than wasting my talents, giving minimal effort and accepting mediocrity, strengthen me to accept the freedom to pursue excellence and to be industrious and fruitful in the talents You have given me…

Rather than procrastinating, being disorganized and being a poor steward, help me build the discipline to stay organized, take timely action and to be a great steward of the material things You have bestowed upon me…

Rather than having poor personal hygiene or disrespecting others by my sloppy, dirty, or shabby appearance, help me to be clean, neat, and respectful in how I present myself to others…

Rather than being lethargic, inactive and overweight, motivate me to be energetic and active, to exercise regularly and maintain a healthy weight for my age and condition…

Blessed Trinity, I desperately need the Gift of the Fear of the Lord so I may battle against Sloth and grow in Diligence.

I beg to grow in the self-mastery of Diligence, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Savior of Man. Amen.
