Artificial intelligence is dominating headlines. People are fascinated—even obsessed—with its potential. It can summarize massive amounts of data, answer questions instantly, and boost human productivity in ways we never imagined. But what is it really? AI isn’t magic. It’s just the ability of machines to simulate human intelligence—through patterns, programs, and access to enormous information. At its best, it’s a mirror of human reason, sharpened by code.
But for all its power, AI is still limited. It can’t love. It can’t create life. It doesn’t have a soul. And it certainly isn’t divine. As men, we should see AI for what it is: a tool. Nothing more. And yet—here’s the twist—we already have access to something infinitely better.
Jesus reveals this truth about God’s knowledge:
“Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” (Mt 6:8, RSVCE)
And again:
“Even the hairs of your head are all numbered.” (Mt 10:30, RSVCE)
God’s intelligence is not artificial—it is Divine. Unlike a machine, God is a Person. He knows you. He sees everything. He understands not just the facts, but your fears, your desires, your sins, your soul. While AI pulls from the internet, Divine Intelligence draws from eternity. And the best part? You don’t need Wi-Fi. You don’t need an update. God is always with you. Always ready to guide you. Always speaking—if you’ll listen.
So what? Every time you hear about artificial intelligence, let it remind you to seek Divine Intelligence instead. Turn to God. Ask Him. Listen. Act. That’s how a Catholic man lives wisely in a world of artificial noise.
